Create & organize pages
Create a page in the right sidebar section, then group related pages without losing track of who can open them.
Understand pages in the sidebar
A page gives work a place in the sidebar. It can contain a note, a view, a dashboard, or an uploaded file, and it can have pages nested beneath it.
publicis for work that belongs to the team.privateis for personal work and drafts.- A nested page belongs under a parent page in the same section.
Choose the section before you create shared or sensitive work. Moving a private page to public changes who can reach it; nesting and reordering within the same section do not.
Choose what to create
The creation menu includes:
Notefor writing.Table,Map,Board,Calendar,Timeline,Gallery, orChartfor a view-based page.Dashboardfor several views and summaries on one page.File uploadfor adding files or a folder structure.
Start with the format that matches the job. You can add more structure after the page has a clear purpose.
For example, a team lookahead belongs in public when everyone should return to it. Early analysis can stay in private until it is ready for the team.

FAQs
Why did New create a private page?
The header’s New → Note path creates the note in private by default. To choose the location first, use the + control on public or private.
What should I choose from the creation menu?
Choose Note for writing, a view layout for structured information, Dashboard for several summaries or views in one place, or File upload when the file itself is the starting point.
Can I remove a page from its parent without deleting it?
Yes. Drag the nested page to a top-level position in the same section. This keeps the page and its content while removing it from the parent.
Does collapsing a parent delete or hide its subpages from search?
No. Collapsing changes only what is expanded in the sidebar. Expand the parent again or use Search... to find a nested page.
