Create & edit projects
Create a project from a Projects-backed view, then confirm which details your team can safely maintain.
Before you start
Use global search to check whether the project already exists. Creating a second record can split items, files, notes, and bidder history across two projects.
Some project values come from connected sources. Your role, the collection configuration, and the field can determine whether a value is editable.
Create a project
- Open a table connected to the
Projectscollection. - Select
NeworNew project. - Enter the project name.
- Add the location, dates, owner, and other details your team is responsible for maintaining.
- Open the new project and confirm that the record belongs to
Projects.
If the new project does not remain visible in the table, check the view's filters. The record may exist without matching the current view.
Update a project
- Open the project, or select an editable cell in a Projects table.
- Change one field at a time.
- Move focus away from the field and wait for the updated value to remain visible.
- Open another view of
Projectsand confirm the same value appears there.
A view is a lens over shared records. You are updating the project, not a private copy of the row.
Treat sourced fields carefully
Don't create a duplicate field or project just because a connected value can't be edited.
When a connected value appears wrong:
- record the project name and the field;
- note the value you expected and the value shown;
- check for a visible source or updated date;
- ask your team administrator or Bidlo contact to confirm the supported correction path.

FAQs
Why did a new project disappear after I created it?
The record may not match the current view’s filters. Search the Projects collection before creating it again.
Why can’t I edit a project field?
Some values come from connected sources and are not editable in that location. Do not create a duplicate field or project just to work around a connected value.
