Permissions
Check who can view or change work in Bidlo, then update the correct permission layer: the person's team role, the page's access list, or the custom app's separate sharing settings.
Understand where access comes from
Bidlo permissions are layered. Giving someone access in one place does not automatically give them access everywhere else.
| Permission layer | Controls | Where to check it |
|---|---|---|
| Team role | What a person can do across the current team. | Settings → People |
| Page access | Who can open or edit one page. | The page's Share panel |
| Custom-app access | Who can open, edit, or manage one custom app. | The app's Share panel and People tab |
Start by confirming the active team. Membership and roles are specific to each team, so a person can have access in one Bidlo team and no access in another.
View team members and their roles
Use the People settings to check whether someone belongs to the current team and what team-level role they have.
- Select
Settingsin the sidebar. - Under
Team, selectPeople. - Select
Membersto view active team members. - Find the person and review the value in their
Rolecontrol. - Select
Inviteswhen the person has been invited but has not joined yet.
The People page also shows Paid seats, Current members, and the plan expiration information available to your team.
Team roles
| Role | What the role can do |
|---|---|
Owner | Edit team settings, delete the team, and manage members. |
Admin | Edit team settings and manage members. |
Member | Access team pages, but not edit team settings. |
Viewer | View team pages and chat with the agent, but not make changes. |
Team roles do not override narrower page or app access. For example, a Member can access team pages, but cannot open another person's private page unless that page is shared with them.
Change a team member's role
You need a team role that can manage members. The control may be unavailable when you do not have that access.
- Open
Settings→People. - Select
Members. - Find the person whose role needs to change.
- Open their current
Rolecontrol. - Select
Owner,Admin,Member, orViewer. - Check that the new role appears beside the person's name.
To add someone who is not a member, select Add members, enter their work email, choose the role under Invite as, and select Invite. Review the team and seat information before sending the invitation.
View permissions for a page
The Share panel shows both individual access and the page's broader team audience.
- Open the page.
- Select
Sharein the page header. - Under
People with access, review the owner and everyone invited individually. - Review the access level beside each person, such as
Can vieworCan edit. - Under
General access, check whether the page saysOnly people invitedorEveryone at [team name]. - Select
Donewhen you have finished reviewing access.
Only people invited restricts the page to its owner and listed people. Everyone at [team name] means anyone in the current team can open it.
Change permissions for a page
Give someone access
- Open the page and select
Share. - Select
Search people or emails.... - Enter the person's name or email address, then select the correct person.
- Choose
Can viewfor read access orCan editwhen the person should be able to change the page. - Confirm that the person appears under
People with access. - Select

Done.
Make the page available to the team
- Open the page and select
Share. - Under
General access, select the current access setting. - Select
Everyone at [team name]. - Confirm that the panel says
Anyone on the team can open it. - Select
Done.
This moves the page to public. In Bidlo, public means available to the current team; it does not mean published on the internet.
Change or remove someone's page access
- Open the page and select
Share. - Find the person under
People with access. - Open the access control beside their name.
- Choose a different access level, or remove the person.
- Confirm that the person or role is updated, then select
Done.
The change takes effect immediately. If you remove the last individually invited person, the page returns to private. The owner remains listed.
View permissions for a custom app
Custom apps have their own access list, even when they appear inside a page.
- Select
Appsin the sidebar. - Open the custom app.
- Select the app's
Sharecontrol. - Open the
Peopletab. - Review the owner, teammates, outside collaborators, and public-link status.
If you can open an app but do not see its sharing control, you can use the app but do not have permission to manage its audience. Ask the app owner to review your access.
Custom-app roles
Viewercan open and use the version of the app shared with them.Editorcan edit the app as well as use it.Ownercontrols the app and its sharing settings.
Only the app owner can grant editor access.
Change permissions for a custom app
- Open
Appsand select the app. - Select
Share. - Search for a teammate by name or email address. You can also enter the email address of an outside collaborator when that audience is appropriate.
- Select the person and choose the access they need.
- Confirm that the person appears on the app's
Peopletab. - Use
Copy linkwhen you want to send the app directly, or publish it to the team when everyone should be able to find it.
Return to the People tab to change a person's role or revoke their access. People invited to an app can find it from their Bidlo home page. Someone who is not on a team lands on the apps shared with them.
Troubleshoot missing access
If someone cannot open or edit something, check these in order:
- Confirm that they used the intended work account.
- Confirm that both of you opened the correct Bidlo team.
- In
Settings→People, verify that they are an active member rather than a pending invite. - Check whether their team role permits the action.
Then check the item itself:
- In the page's
Sharepanel, reviewPeople with accessandGeneral access. - For an embedded custom app, check the app's separate
Peopletab. - Ask the person to reopen the link and confirm what they can see or change.

FAQs
Which permission should I check first when someone cannot open something?
Confirm the active team, then check team membership, the page’s access, and any custom-app access separately. Access at one layer does not guarantee access at another.
Does a team role override private-page permissions?
No. A team role controls team-level capabilities, but a private page still needs to be shared with that person.
