Live presence

Interpret presence indicators and coordinate with teammates viewing the same work.

When another teammate has the same document open, Bidlo shows their avatar in the document header. Hover over an avatar to see the person's name, email when available, local time when available, and Viewing this page.

What presence tells you

A presence indicator means another signed-in teammate is currently connected to that document. Use it as a cue to coordinate when you are both reviewing or editing the same work.

Presence does not confirm that the other person is editing, that every change has saved, or that two simultaneous changes cannot conflict.

Coordinate while someone else is present

  1. Check the document header before making a consequential change.
  2. If another teammate is present, agree who will update the record or which fields each person will handle.
  3. After editing, wait for the updated value to remain visible.
  4. Reopen or refresh the record if the visible state does not match what your teammate sees.

Use comments or your team's normal communication channel when the work needs an explicit decision trail. Presence itself is not a comment or approval.

If the indicator looks stale

Network interruptions and background tabs can delay presence changes. Refresh or reopen the document before assuming a teammate is still active. Do not use presence as an audit log; use team activity when you need recorded history.

FAQs

Does an avatar mean the other person is editing?

No. It shows that the teammate is connected to the document, not that they are actively changing it or that every change has saved.

What should we do if we see different values?

Pause overlapping edits, compare the field or section in question, and refresh or reopen the record before continuing.
