Overview
Use an app when a repeatable workflow benefits from its own focused interface.
Open an existing app from the Apps area or start a new one with the app builder.
Choose between chat and an app
Chat and apps begin with a prompt, but they are useful for different outcomes:
- Use chat for a question, analysis, or one-time output.
- Use an app when people should return to a purpose-built interface for the same kind of work.
For example, use chat to summarize one project file. Consider an app when the same inputs and review steps should be presented consistently each time.
Open the Apps area
- Open
Appsfrom the sidebar. - Select
Searchto find an available app, or choose an app from the list. - Select
New appwhen you want to start a new app-builder conversation.
If the list is empty, the Apps section displays No apps.
Start in the app builder
Selecting New app opens App builder. The builder includes:
- an app title;
- an AI prompt;
- a model selector and dictation control;
- controls for team members and connections.
Use the prompt to describe the outcome, users, inputs, and primary action. Add files or Bidlo context from the prompt menu when the app needs a concrete example.

FAQs
Why does the Apps area say No apps?
The current list has no apps available to display. Select New app to open the builder, or use Search to check for an app by name.
Is an app the same as a chat?
No. A chat is a conversation. An app gives a recurring workflow its own interface.
What should I include in the first app prompt?
Name the user, the job they are trying to complete, the information the app needs, and the result it should produce. Include an example file or record when it clarifies the workflow.
