Role Description
Bidlo is seeking a Sr. Full Stack Engineer to help build and scale the product used by heavy civil contractors. You will own features from technical design through release, work across the frontend and backend, and turn customer needs into reliable, useful software.
This is a hands-on engineering role with responsibility for technical decisions, code quality, and mentoring junior engineers. You should be comfortable navigating an evolving product, breaking complex work into manageable steps, and balancing delivery speed with maintainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the design, implementation, testing, and release of full-stack product features.
- Build responsive, accessible interfaces with React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
- Develop backend services, APIs, and PostgreSQL data models that support reliable customer workflows.
- Improve performance, data integrity, authorization, and the reliability of existing features.
- Translate customer feedback and product goals into clear technical plans and incremental releases.
- Investigate production issues, address root causes, and add meaningful safeguards against regressions.
- Review code, document important decisions, and help establish practical engineering standards.
- Evaluate emerging AI tools and improve the team's development processes while maintaining code quality and reliability.
- Mentor junior engineers through pairing, thoughtful code review, and clearly scoped assignments.

Requirements
- Professional software engineering work experience, including shipping and maintaining production applications.
- Strong full-stack development skills across frontend interfaces, backend services, APIs, and relational databases.
- Familiarity with current AI coding tools, agents, and development processes, and a habit of staying up to date as they evolve.
- Ability to use AI effectively for planning, implementation, debugging, testing, and code review while understanding and validating the resulting work.
- Clear communication, sound technical judgment, and a willingness to mentor junior engineers while remaining hands-on.
- Bonus points: Previously led or managed a development team, including setting priorities, guiding technical decisions, reviewing work, and helping engineers grow. Formal management experience is preferred, not required.
- Bonus points: Previous experience working in construction, particularly heavy civil construction, estimating, or public infrastructure.
Nice to Have
- Experience with React, Next.js, TypeScript, Supabase, or PostgreSQL.
- Experience building SaaS products, data-heavy interfaces, integrations, or AI-assisted workflows.
- Familiarity with public procurement or geospatial data.
Compensation
- Annual base salary: $140,000–$180,000 USD.
- Final salary within this range will reflect relevant skills, experience, and the scope of the role.
